Holy Week 2021 8 days

Day 1| SAT 27 MARCH – Guatemala Airport – Guatemala  
Arrival at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Guatemala City. Lodging.

Day 2| SUN 28 MARCH – Guatemala – Chichicastenango – Lake Atitlán  
Breakfast. Departure to Guatemalan Highlands with destination to the village of Chichicastenango, where we will visit one of the most famous indigenous markets in all Latin America. This day, we will enjoy a living experience, where the travelers will have a corn workshop with local women. Corn is the most important staple food in Guatemala. After the visit, we will continue to Lake Atitlán –once Aldous Huxley said “it is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world”, surrounded by volcanoes and giving home to twelve indigenous peoples. Lodging.

Day 3| MON 29 MARCH – Lake Atitlán – Santiago Atitlán – Internacional Airport – Petén  
Breakfast. Today we will take a boat to cross Lake Atitlán. We will visit the Tzutuhil town of Santiago Atitlán. After the excursion, we will continue to the international airport to take a regular flight to Flores. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Lodging.

Day 4| TUE 30 MARCH – Petén – Tikal – Petén   
Breakfast. Today we will visit the Mayan city of Tikal, the jewel of the classic Maya World. Lunch in the archaeological site. Rest of the afternoon at leisure to enjoy a walk-through Flores Island, accompanied by a relaxing view of Lake Petén Itzá. Lodging.

Day 5| WED 31 MARCH – Petén – Guatemala – La Antigua
Breakfast. In the morning: transfer to Flores Airport to take a flight back to Guatemala City. Arrival and transfer to La Antigua, colonial city declared World Heritage Site. We will take a walk through the cobbled streets that will take us back to the XVII century.  We will pass by the Palace of the General Captains, La Merced Church, San Francisco and some other colonial corners. Lodging.

Day 6| THU 01 APRIL – La Antigua     
Breakfast. We will have the day at leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities or make an optional excursion  to the Pacaya Volcano, the most interesting volcanic complex in Central America due to the amount of eruptive cones, craters and changes that can be observed there. We will arrive by car at the foot of Pacaya Volcano. Then, there we will begin our ascent. After an hour and a half walking the traveler will be in the central plateau, 350 meters from the crater of one of the four active volcanoes of Guatemala. Lodging.

Day 7| FRI 02 APRIL – La Antigua    
Breakfast. Day at leisure to enjoy on your own the colorful and original carpets -made mainly of sawdust- that decorate and enhance the cobblestone streets of this colonial city. During the day, you will appreciate one of the greatest expressions of faith and devotion displayed in the emblematic processions that commemorate such an important date for Christianity. Lodging.

Day 8|SAT 03 APRIL – La Antigua – Guatemala Airport 
Breakfast. Transfer to Guatemala City airport. End of our services.
