Day 1º.(THU) Guatemala Airport – Guatemala
Arrival to the International airport and transfer to your hotel in Guatemala City. Lodging.
Day 2º.(FRI) Guatemala – Iximché – San Andrés Xecul – Huehuetenango
Breakfast. Departure to the Highlands of Guatemala. On our way we will visit the archeological site of Iximché, old Mayan Capital of the Cakchiquel Kingdom. After the excursion, we will go on to Huehuetenango. On our way, we will visit San Andrés Xecul, which has a stunning parish church with a spectacular façade. Lodging.
Day 3º.(SAT) Huehuetenango – Todos Santos Market – Chichicastenango
Breakfast. Early in the morning we will go up to Los Cuchumatanes, to visit the market of Todos Santos, one of the most authentic markets in Guatemala. After the visit, we will go on to Chichicastenango, a town surrounded by valleys and majestic mountains. Lodging.
Day 4º.(SUN) Chichicastenango – Market – Atitlán
Breakfast. Today we will visit one of the most famous indigenous markets in all Latin America. Today, we will enjoy a living experience, where the travelers will have a corn workshop with local women. Corn is the most important staple food in Guatemala. After the visit we will continue towards Lake Atitlán, that Aldous Huxley said, “it is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world”. Lodging.
Day 5 º.(MON) Atitlán – Santiago Atitlán – Guatemala
Breakfast. We will take a boat to visit the village Tzutuhil of Santiago Atitlán. In the afternoon: transfer to Guatemala City. Lodging.
Day 6º.(TUE) Guatemala – Copán
Breakfast. We will depart from Guatemala City, and cross to Honduran territory to visit Copán, a Mayan civilization: Stelae, pyramids, ball courts, burials, etc. Lodging.
Day 7º.(WED) Copán – Quirigua – Izabal Area
Breakfast. Departure to the Caribbean side of Guatemala On our way, we will include the visit to Quiriguá, archaeological site that has the tallest stelae built by the Mayas. At the end of the visit, we will visit Izabal, one of the nature wonders of the country. Lodging.
Day 8º.(THU) Izabal Area – Río Dulce – Petén
Breakfast. Morning boat ride through Río Dulce, a unique place of ecological and natural richness. Through the ride, we will go by boat to the touristic site of Cayo Quemado, to have a living experience. With the community members, we will enjoy a culinary workshop preparing a delicious winkle or shrimp and coconut ceviche. After lunch, we will continue our boat tour and head to Río Dulce town, where our transportation is going to be waiting to continue our trip to Petén jungle. Lodging.
Day 9º. (FRI) Petén – Tikal – La Antigua
Breakfast. Today we will visit the Mayan city of Tikal, the jewel of the classic Mayan world. Lunch at the site. Transfer to the airport to take a short flight back to Guatemala and then transfer to La Antigua. Lodging.
Day 10º.(SUN) La Antigua – Airport Guatemala
Breakfast. Transfer to Guatemala City Airport. End of our services.
