Day 1º.(TUE) – Guatemala Airport – Guatemala
Arrival to Guatemala City Airport. Transfer to your hotel. Lodging.
Day 2º.(WED) – Guatemala – Iximche – Atitlán
Breakfast. Departure to the Guatemalan Highlands. In our path we will visit Iximché, the old Mayan capital of the Cakchiquel Kingdom. We will continue to Lake Atitlán, considered as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world by Huxley. Lodging.
Day 3º. (THU) – Atitlán – Chichicastenango – Atitlán
Breakfast. In the morning: transfer to the village of Chichicastenango, where we will visit one of the most famous indigenous markets in all Latin America. That day, we will enjoy a living experience, where the travelers will have a corn workshop with local women. Corn is the most important staple food in Guatemala. Lodging.
Day 4 º. (FRI) – Atitlán – Santiago – La Antigua
Breakfast. Today we will take a boat to visit the village Tzutuhil of Santiago Atitlán. After the excursion, we will continue to La Antigua, arrival in mid afternoon and orientation tour in this colonial city declared World Heritage Site: ride to the Cathedral, central plaza, main monuments and museums. Lodging.
Day 5 º. (SAT) – La Antigua
Breakfast. We have the day free to enjoy La Antigua and the hotel facilities. As an optional activity, in the morning, we can take an excursion to Pacaya Volcano. Lodging.
Day 6 º. (SUN) – La Antigua –Guatemala – Copán
Breakfast. We will depart from La Antigua and cross to Honduran territory to visit Copán, a Mayan site with many interesting facts of the Maya civilization: stelae. Pyramids, ball courts, burials, etc. Lodging.
Day 7 º. (MON) – Copán – Quirigua – Izabal Area
Breakfast. Departure to the Caribbean side of Guatemala. On our way, we will include the visit of Quiriguá, archaeological site that has the tallest stelae built by the Mayas. At the end of the visit, we will visit Izabal, one of the nature wonders of the country. Lodging.
Day 8 º. (TUE) – Izabal Area – Río Dulce – Petén.
Breakfast. Morning boat ride through Río Dulce, a unique place of ecological and natural richness. Through the ride, we will go by boat to the touristic site of Cayo Quemado, to have a living experience. With the community members, we will enjoy a culinary workshop preparing a delicious winkle (also known as “burro”) or shrimp and coconut ceviche. After lunch, we will continue our boat tour and head to Río Dulce town, where our transportation is going to be waiting to continue our trip to Petén jungle. Lodging.
Day 9 º.(WED) – Petén – Tikal – Guatemala
Breakfast. Today we will visit the Mayan city of Tikal, the jewel of the Classic period. Lunch in the archaeological site. Transfer to Flores airport to take a short flight back to Guatemala. Transfer to the hotel. Lodging.
Day 10º.(THU) – Guatemala – Guatemala Airport
Breakfast. Transfer to the International Airport of Guatemala City. End of our services.
