Maya Express Route – 9 days

Day 1 | MON – Cancún – Ek Balam – Chichén Itzá – Mérida
In the morning, we will leave towards the archaeological zone of Ek Balam, which, judging by the size and quality of its constructions was a political entity of great wealth and prosperity. At the end of the visit, we can have a refreshing bath in one of the cenotes of the area. We will continue towards the colonial city of Valladolid, panoramic visit to reach the archaeological site of Chichén Itzá, an enigmatic place, declared Patrimony of Humanity and recognized as one of the new seven wonders of the modern world. Lunch. After lunch, we will continue to Merida, capital of the state of Yucatan, known as “White City”, Lodging.

Day 2 | TUE – Mérida – Uxmal – Campeche  
Breakfast. In the morning, we begin our tour by exploring the heart of the Yucatecan capital. Our panoramic visit includes key landmarks such as La Plaza Mayor, Casa de Montejo, San Ildefonso Cathedral, the Government Palace, and the Episcopal Palace, among others.We then continue along the legendary Calle 60, arriving at the iconic Paseo de Montejo, a grand avenue that reflects the splendor of Yucatán’s Golden Age. Following the city tour, we will head to the archaeological site of Uxmal, one of the most stunning examples of Mayan architecture along the Puuc Route. Highlights include the towering Pyramid of the Magician, the intricate friezes of the Nunnery Quadrangle, the decorative elements of the House of the Turtles, the ball court, and breathtaking panoramic views from the Governor’s Palace. These majestic structures reflect the cultural and political importance of this ancient city. In the afternoon, we will continue on to Campeche. En route, we’ll make a stop at a local pottery or hat workshop, where we’ll meet a master artisan and learn about their traditional craft. Lodging.

Day 3 | WED – Campeche – Palenque
Breakfast. In the morning, we will begin a panoramic tour of the historic center of San Francisco de Campeche, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. Our visit will include the city’s most emblematic landmarks: elegant colonial mansions, fascinating museums, the impressive Fort of San Miguel and Fort of San José, the Cathedral, Independence Square, the Bastion of San Carlos, Puerta de Tierra, and the Church of San Román, among others. At the end of the tour, we will travel along the scenic Campeche coastline until we reach Palenque. Upon arrival in Santo Domingo de Palenque, the rest of the afternoon is free to relax or explore. Day 4| THU – Palenque – Palenque – Milsoha – Palenque
Breakfast. Today, we will visit the archaeological site of Palenque, one of the most important ruins of the Maya World. We will explore the famous Temple of the Inscriptions, where the sarcophagus of King Pakal was discovered, featuring a carved relief tombstone. We will also visit the Temple of the Foliated Cross, the Temple of the Sun, and the Palace.After the tour, we will venture into the jungle to discover one of the most beautiful natural sanctuaries: Milsohá, a waterfall approximately 25 meters high, set in a breathtaking natural landscape. In the afternoon, we will return to Santo Domingo de Palenque. Lodging

Day 5|FRI – Palenque – El Ceibo – Petén 
Breakfast. In the morning, we will depart for the Mexico–Guatemala border at El Ceibo. After completing immigration procedures, we will continue our journey into the Petén jungle. Lodging.

Day 6| SAT – Petén – Tikal – Guatemala 
Breakfast. Today, we will visit the Mayan city of Tikal, the jewel of the Classic Mayan World. Lunch will be served at the archaeological site. After the visit, we will transfer to Petén Airport to board a local flight back to Guatemala City. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Lodging.

Day 7| SUN – Guatemala – Chichicastenango – Lago Atitlán – Antigua 
Breakfast. Departure to the Guatemalan highlands with destination to the village of Chichicastenango, where we will visit one of the most famous indigenous markets in all Latin America, After the visit, continue to Lake Atitlán for a panoramic view of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, with its three volcanoes and twelve indigenous villages. Return to Guatemala City in the mid-afternoon. Lodging

Day 8|MON – La Antigua 
strolling through its cobbled streets, appreciating their architectural style of yesteryear, or relaxing in the hotel facilities. As an optional activity, during morning, we recommend take a cultural tour of this city, declared a World Heritage Site. Lodging.

Day 9| TUE – La Antigua – Guatemala Airport 
Breakfast. Transfer to the International Airport of Guatemala City. End of our services.
